About

I have a diverse, yet wide ranging experience in art & design

I originally studied Fine Art Printmaking, continuing my artistic practice on graduating with exhibitions and I have Artists Books held in collections, including the RCA and Tate Britain. From making books, I became fascinated by page layout and typography and completed a Grad Cert in Visual Communication at UAL.

In 2010 I co-founded LMNOP Studios, where I have continuously won clients and undertaken some fantastic projects with great clients, including; branding and identity design (eg/ Live Music Now), creative artworking (eg/ Soho House Festival), illustration (eg/The Brighton Dome) and book design (eg/ Viktor Wynd Museum), working with an array of clients in the cultural and creative sectors, including; UCL, Secret Garden Party, Clod Ensemble, YouTube & Google.

My passion for learning led me to pursue an MA in Sequential Design/Illustration. During the MA I researched how cut-out pages can be used to drive the narrative of a picture book. I have used this research to write and develop playful, interactive books.

Since graduating I have undertaken illustration commissions, including working with Sonshine Magazine and illustrating a children’s book with CCPPG, China’s most prominent publisher. My stylised illustrations rejoice in pattern, shape and colour.

I am lucky enough to have a beach side studio / shop space (opposite Brighton Pier), inspired by the location started the illustrated brand, SEE. This allows me to evolve my own illustrations and gets my hands inky again screen printing. I am a member of East Side Print in Kemptown.

Studying Fine Art, and Visual Communication at Masters level means I am an in-depth, conceptual thinker, always bringing meaning and consideration of how strategy can be communicated through graphic design. A key aspect of my process is research, honed on my MA. I pride myself on my originality and creativity and draw on a wide array of artistic influences and knowledge.

Possessing expertise in the main Adobe Suite, and extensive experience in print production, I have worked on the creative for many animations, I can storyboard and consider a sequence of images. I am an illustrator, with diverse skills from freehand drawing, to printmaking, to creating textured work in Photoshop and clean vectors in Illustrator. I have a strong understanding and love of typography, from formal Modernist inspired layouts to playful hand lettering.

Inspired by time spent with my family, collecting leaves in the park, climbing rocks and staring out to sea with my two young boys, Leo & Otis. I also love trawling charity shops and collecting weird and wonderful things - owls (the wonkier the better), kitsch cats, pots with faces on, and highly patterned vintage fabrics… ooh treasures!

After all, at heart I’m still the girl hiding under a fringe who love drawing, hanging out on beaches, in a snazzy jumpers…
